Dr. Ritu Kumar is one of India's topmost environmental economist experienced in issues related to sustainable production, trade, and climate change. Currently, Director of TERI-Europe (affiliated to the The Environment and Resources Institute, India) and Executive Director of the Sustainable Trade and Innovation Centre, she is presently working on a host of practical projects aimed at enhancing the capacity of developing country producers and exporters to meet sustainability requirements.
Thoroughly experienced in issues relating to social accountability and corporate responsibility, Dr. Kumar is in the process of developing concrete action programmes across South Asia. She has worked with UNIDO for more than a decade and fashioned projects relating to industry and environmental policy in several developing nations.
A Delhi University graduate, Dr. Kumar did her masters at Delhi School of Economics, the London School of Economics, UK, and Pennsylvania State University, US.
